@brutal_architecture Welbeck Meeting — Research Brief — OUGD603

With @brutal_architecture being the largest, most popular account of its kind on Instagram, it seemed appropriate to how the audience would respond to a meeting organised by Steve, to commemorate the building, proving that people follow these accounts out of genuine love for this style of architecture and what it stands for, not just how it appears aesthetically.

BRUTAL_ARCHITECTURE FEATURE ➖ Tragic news: everyone's favourite piece of geometric concrete brutalist beautifulness (and of course featuring as the logo for this feed) is, alas, destined to be closed and likely demolished shortly. Welbeck Street car park, designed by Michael Blampied and built in 1969 was refused listing by @historicengland despite having a ground-breaking façade design and is now sadly destined for the wrecking ball to make way for a luxury hotel.
