To begin with the client wasn't after any colour, however after some thought had gone into it, she'd requested blue, as there is a lot of blue in her images.

I said this is not a huge justification to make such a large design choice, however, upon greater inspection of the brief, I pointed out to myself how she wanted to get into gallery work, this prompted me to suggest IK Blue as a colour - with its strong links to the art community and art galleries.

International Klien blue is a shade of blue that the artist Yves Klien used to paint onto his canvases:



The client loved this idea. Therefore it is now time to start developing this into a strong, own able identity.
