Watermark — Laura Sawyer Identity — OUGD603

Laura has requested that a watermark different to her logo should be produced to put over her printed images.

This means utilising the brand typeface to ensure it can still tie in well with the rest of the brand.

Creating a stamp-like logo seemed most appropriate for this particular application:

This can now be applied to any printed collateral the client requests in order to have her branding on every aspect of the identity.

Adding Colour — Laura Sawyer Identity — OUGD603

To begin with the client wasn't after any colour, however after some thought had gone into it, she'd requested blue, as there is a lot of blue in her images.

I said this is not a huge justification to make such a large design choice, however, upon greater inspection of the brief, I pointed out to myself how she wanted to get into gallery work, this prompted me to suggest IK Blue as a colour - with its strong links to the art community and art galleries.

International Klien blue is a shade of blue that the artist Yves Klien used to paint onto his canvases:

The client loved this idea. Therefore it is now time to start developing this into a strong, own able identity.

Application — Same But Different — OUGD603

With this particular exhibition taking place in my home town, myself and the client spend a day pasting promotions for the exhibition:

Even getting the posters into the Atkinson Art Gallery.

Thi was another stand out aspect of this exhibition, having my posters up on Art in Liverpool sandwiched between the open eye gallery and the Tate was extremely satisfying and filled me with pride.
